How to use the Do2Learn Website

Do2Learn offers thousands of pages of free resources for individuals with special needs and their parents and teachers. We concentrate on providing hands-on material that you can either print or use on line.  As we see gaps, we add content based on user requests. We find advertisements irritating on many sites, so we have no ads. To keep the material easily accessed for everyone, we don’t require that you register and we never track your actions.

Four Ways to Navigate the Do2Learn Website
  1. The Navigation Bar

All resources can be accessed from the navigation bar at the top.  The items we sell are listed under the Products section. All material in the other sections of the navigation bar are free.

  2. The Site Map

All material in the site is listed on the Site Map, divided by ‘Information’, free ‘Print Material, Games and Songs’, and ‘Products’ we make and sell.

  3. Specific Topic
Most topic items are spread around the site, depending on what type of activity they provide. As an example, math helpers might include
    • Grid paper and tables listed in the navigation bar under Activities/Math Helpers
    • Learning strategies listed under Get Organized/Teacher Toolbox/Learning Strategies/Mathematics
    • The ‘How Many?’ and ‘Math Mahjong’ games listed in the Songs and Games section.
    • Since subjects often overlap, the best way to find something is the Site Map or directly in the navigation bar.

  4. Disorder or Age Search
We do not usually recommend the web content for any specific disorder or age range. Because individuals are all unique, particularly when they are learning in different ways, we find that our strategies don’t generally divide well across age or disorder.  As an example, Faceland was designed for kids 5-7 but in studies it works well for high functioning and normal children ages 4 and 5 and also adults with severe learning issues. However, its animation is often too child like for some high functioning adults. Where it is clear that certain resources might work better for certain ages, like the Social Play Action Figures for younger children and the Social Skills Graphic Organizers for older children, we try to indicate that in the navigation bar. In general, however, we leave it to you to judge where the material is most useful to you.

About Us
: Our background & philosophy, contact information, a list of team members and a website flyer of our services that you can print for distribution.

Disabilities:
General information on disorders. There are many good websites that concentrate on disability information so we do not focus our efforts on this section.

Activities:
Lots of good classroom and home activities that were developed with clinician, parent and teacher guidance. We present the reason the activity works, how to use it, and then give the printable forms so you can do it yourself.

The most popular materials include:

Songs and Games:
Understanding dangers can be problematic for many children with special needs so we have developed a series of song based animated lessons to explain important safety rules. These include school bus rules, exiting a fire in a home, crossing streets and holding hands in a mall.  Beside the free ones here, we offer others in our Products section.

The games were developed to address unique learning problems and use designs with features like strong visual cues, positive reinforcements and randomization. Some popular games are:

Get Organized is the area that is growing the fastest on our site. It contains the deepest sections with 3 toolboxes as well as tips for classroom and behavior organizers. For teachers in particular, this is a valuable area. Some popular areas are:

Picture Cards was our first section and is still the most popular. It explains how to make and use visual communication cards and provides hundreds of free printable images to get started. It also offers pre-made Print and Go images for uses like doctor visits.

Products are the items we sell, including books, learning software, image communication cards, and the Make-A-Schedule yearly subscription program, our most popular product with our 2500 custom images used as part of a schedule and story strip creation program. We do not sell products that we do not develop. This is also where you find the download page links if you ordered items.

Site Map lists all the items we offer. It is a fast way to find anything.
